How to Stop Worrying About Money
Worrying about Money?
Do you worry about money? Many people do. In fact, money is one of the top things people worry about. Yet, worry and stress can get in the way of making good money decisions.
When you are freaked about about money you lower your ability to make good decisions. For some people experiencing significant financial stress may even lower their IQ!
Consider Meditating
I know this doesn’t sound like a financial strategy – but it just might be one of the best ways to calm your mind down and be able to see your next best step more clearly.
Try it right now. Take in one slow deep breath and exhale gently. It can be that simple and you can do this throughout your day.
In this video, I’ll share more on this easy way to lower your stress around money.

How About Some Good News for a Change?
Are you as tired of all of the bad news out there as I am? It turns out that too much exposure to negative news, whether that’s from watching on TV, reading it on line, or listening on your commute all contribute to anxiety and depression. It feeds into our natural inclination to focus on things that are negative and life threatening.
According to an interview with British psychologist Graham Davey in the Huffington Post “Negative news can significantly change an individual’s mood — especially if there is a tendency in the news broadcasts to emphasize suffering and also the emotional components of the story.”
So where do you turn instead? Here are some great sites to keep you inspired and encouraged:
Washington Post’s Inspired Life – chock full of good news and interesting stories
The Good News Network – This site has been around even before it was cool to be all positive and optimistic.
Soul Pancake – Had enough cats singing? Check out the videos at Soul Pancakes YouTube channel.
Tiny Buddha – Blog site focused on happy living. And who doesn’t want that?
The Utopian Life – Filled with well researched articles to help you think better and live better.
The Happiness Project – Maybe you’ve read Gretchen Reuben’s book or listened to her podcasts. She’s all about creating happiness deliberately.
Sometimes I Catch Myself Doing This and It’s Not Very Nice
I have to own up to something. Sometimes I find myself judging other people. Not on important stuff but on trivial stuff. It’s embarrassing and not nice. So I decided I would try something different and what happened really surprised me.
